Outstanding venue in a lovely location; really nice restaurant food too.
Couple weeks ago I was with my girlfriend and a friend of us, to see the offers at the wedding fair organised by Phyllis Court.From the beginning very disappointed, because indication was totally wrong, we drop in the hotel reception instead of wedding location.We try to talk with someone from the club, regarding a wedding party, I understand her name was Sonia; after she measure us from head to toes, she told us on a despised tone, she's busy. Busy doing nothing, because we remember she was not involved in any conversation with someone else.OK, no problem! We are also busy to spend our money in another place!We read about etiquette and stuff like this, but I don't think visitors are chosen after how they look like, because from her attitude and body language, we was feeling like a bunch of wretches who doesn't afford a wedding there.
Lovely area and beautiful scenery. Staff are extremely helpful.The parking however is very limited.
What an amazing place, beautiful setting by the river. Internally the place was amazing wouldn't normally comment on the ladies but it was not like anything is seen before! A sofa, hairdryer, ornate sinks, soap and hand cream, then through to the wc's. Enough of that, Staff were friendly and helpful and smart. Didn't eat so can't comment on food but expect it was good.
During the regatta they have bouncers who are dressed like the men in black - which is quite sweet.They are opening a wellness centre.It's pretty and well maintained. They have a manic show for children during the regatta which is nice.Like most of the places in Henley it is trying to 'maintain standards' e.g. get people to dress behave a certain way. Perhaps consequently, it has a reputation for being full of fusty old people.
