Came here twice on our trip for dinner. Easily the best good we had anywhere on our UK trip. We will definitely came back here again on our next trip.
Ridiculously slow service at bar, and no preference to customers who had been waiting longest. That said I would expect it to be busy on boxing Day, but 15/20mins to be served is beyond the joke.It is a lovely pub though, and in a lovely setting. As I enjoy the walk to get there, this will not stop me returning. I just hope the service is better next time.Note: Revisited 1/1/19 (it's the walk that is good)Got there early this time. Manager made sure we were being attended to, and apologized for not being able to serve only limited food outside. Understandable as they were full inside.Highlight had to be a miserable barman. It you have ever watched I'm a celebrity, this guy was just like the man at the kiosk in dingo dollar challenge. Dead pan, and very little to say. Maybe it was because I didn't have actual dingo dollars to pay with!Had a nice pint and a snack then headed back.
Really nice country pub with good sized home made pub food. The area is quiet and the air is clean. There is no mobile reception on some major networks once you are inside so people aren't glued to their phones.
A lovely afternoon and evening spent here as a group of 9. The staff could not have been friendlier and did their utmost to accommodate our large and demanding party, always with a smile. The food was delicious, a little on the expensive side but good for a treat. Would certainly return for another treat. Very easy to spend several hours here.
